Georgia Master Timber Harvester Continuing Education

To renew your GA-MTH designation, complete 4 hours of Continuing Logger Education (CLE) every year, which must include at least 1 category A CLE credit.

Educational providers are responsible for giving you certificate(s) for any CLE-approved continuing education events. These certificates list the type of credits given. General topics that are covered in each category are as follows:

  • Best Management Practices (BMP's) including streamside management, road construction as well as maintenance and retirement.
  • Reforestation, invasive exotic plants and animals
  • Awareness of responsibilities under the U.S. Endangered Species Act and other measures to protect wildlife habitat
  • Awareness of rare forested natural communities
  • Logging Safety & OSHA
  • Transportation Issues
  • Business Management
  • Public policy

Alternative Continuing Education Options

Southern Regional Extension Forestry

Forestry Webinar Portal

On an ongoing basis we do approve CLE credits provided by the Southern Regional Extension Forestry's Forestry Webinar Portal. This learning system includes many types of education credits so please double check the individual modules you select to see if they have been approved specifically for Georgia Master Timber Harvester CLEs before you take a course and REMEMBER to attach your Certificates to your GA-MTH Renewal Application. We do not administer this online CLE system so please contact Southern Regional Extension Forestry for technical assistance.

 

Relevant training not already CLE-approved?

If you have a relevant training opportunity that has not been approved for CLE credits, the training provider must complete and submit a Georgia CLE application form two weeks BEFORE the intended training date. You can also contact the GA-MTH office to learn more about obtaining Georgia CLE credits for a class.

Already have MTH ID Number?

If you are already in good standing (not yet expired and expiring soon), visit our Continuing Education tab to participate in in-person and online training that will go towards your renewal credit hours that will go towards your renewal credit hours.

If you just expired last year, you can reinstate BEFORE April 30th. Use the Renewal tab for online filing or fill out a Reinstatement Form.

If you expired more than four months ago, retake the introductory workshop.
